About MAMAH
MAMAH began at the table.

For as long as we can remember, some of our favorite moments have happened over games—around the mahjong table with family and in the quiet rituals of gathering. Born out of our shared love for tabletop games, MAMAH began with a simple realization: the games we treasured most deserved to be as beautiful as the moments they created. We wanted to build collectible pieces that people would be proud to play, proud to display, and excited to pass down through generations.
The name MAMAH is a play on mom and mahjong: a tribute to the mothers and daughters who teach, gather, and carry traditions forward. For us, mahjong became the game that brought us together in adulthood—something we returned to week after week, and a ritual that became the heart of the brand.
Every mahjong set includes a special 媽媽tile—meaning “mama” in Chinese—a quiet nod to the mother-daughter story that inspired MAMAH and the generations these pieces are meant to connect.
Today, MAMAH reimagines the world’s most enduring games as modern heirlooms. Our collections are released as thoughtfully curated concepts: City Collections inspired by places where people gather, annual House Collections centered around an obsession that has captured our imagination, collaborations with artists whose work we admire, and partnerships with brands we’d proudly share a table with. Each release is thoughtfully produced in limited quantities, designed to tell its own story while remaining unmistakably MAMAH.
Every piece is designed in California and crafted by skilled artisans in China, where the tradition of mahjong first began. We believe exceptional materials, thoughtful craftsmanship, and timeless design create objects that become part of family traditions—not just for one generation, but for three and beyond.
